  • Another way is to disconnect the battery terminals for 20 seconds then reconnect them.
  • The third method is to turn your key over to accessory, then back to on within 10 seconds.
  • The vehicle is now reset and will need to relearn its idle pattern. To do this start the vehicle and let it idle for 30 seconds or so, then turn the engine off.
  • Once you have done this it is recommended to re-initialize the computer by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery terminals.
  • The fourth way is to connect a scanner and clear any trouble codes that may be present.
  • If you want to change the speed that your tachometer displays, then just tap on it with your finger and it will change.

All you need to do it order one of our clusters and include a transmission temp gauge upgrade. No modification is needed for the cluster with an instrument cluster temp guage to work correctly. Simply plug into your vehicle.

How do you reset the gauge cluster on a 2003 Silverado?

Do not attempt to reset the gauge cluster on a 2003 Silverado unless there is a malfunction. In order to reset the gauges, you will need to disconnect the battery and wait three minutes. Then, reconnect the battery and turn on your ignition switch in 15 seconds or less.

The gauges will begin to move and then stop. Wait three minutes; turn the ignition off for one minute, then on again. This will reset your gauges. The vehicle will also need to relearn its idle pattern.

To do this, start the vehicle and let it idle for 30 seconds or so, then turn the engine off. Once you have done this, it is recommended to re-initialize the computer by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery terminals.

Turn the key to the on position and wait 15 seconds. Turn the key off for yet another 15 seconds and turn it back on. Do this process three times in a row. This will reset the engine light and you should no longer see it lit up on your dash.

If the code that was triggered is a simple fix, the light will go out and you can drive your truck. If it comes back on, turn off the engine and allow five minutes to pass. Turn the engine back on and you should see no warning light for that code.

If your vehicle is equipped with the OnStar system, press the blue button on your touch tone phone. Follow the prompts to turn off your vehicle's check engine light. This will only work if there is no problem with your trucks computer.


How to replace the instrument cluster in a 2003 Chevy Silverado?

You will need to remove the dash trim around the shifter from your vehicle. Remove the 4 screws that hold the cluster in place and pull it out of the dash. Be sure to disconnect both plugs on either side of your instrument cluster before pulling it out completely. Unplug the connectors that run into your dash.

Be sure to use your parking brake to move your shifter.
