Contact UsBest Heavy Duty Clusters
ISS Automotive offers replacement instrument clusters and/or repairs for many of the heavy-duty truck brands on the road like Freightliner, Workhorse, or International, as well as many medium-duty trucks from Chevrolet and GMC. We know that working vehicles are pushed hard and counted upon to drive business, so we make sure every cluster we touch has the very best components:
- Better-than-OE-quality stepper motors
- Circuits are thoroughly inspected and cleaned, with damaged components replaced as determined by testing and inspection
- OE quality replacement lighting or, for an additional fee, upgraded LED lighting
- Final testing and validation using special equipment to verify that the clusters are fully functional
Whether you are looking for Freightliner speedometer repair or a replacement Workhorse instrument cluster, we have what you're looking for.
Why Buy From Us?
ISS Automotive is one of the most reliable names in the automotive industry. Serving since 1949, ISS Automotive has provided quality vehicle replacement parts and repairs for most vehicle makes/models, including gauges for many heavy-duty vehicles like Workhorse. When you shop with us you get:
- OE Quality. Every parts meets or (in many cases) exceeds OEM standards. This ensures decades of reliable gauge cluster operation.
- Vehicle Specific Programming. Replacement clusters are programmed to work with your exact model - we use your vehicle VIN to make sure.
- Precise mileage and engine hour programming. Avoid any issues with mileage or engine hour ratings - give us your precise current readings, and we'll make sure your replacement cluster reads the same numbers.
- Fast shipping. We can get often your replacement cluster out to you the same day you order, minimizing vehicle down time.
- Easy installation. All you need are some basic hand tools to remove your old gauges and install the new ones from ISS - you don't even need a technician to do the replacement.
- Customizations available. For a small upcharge, we offer upgraded LED cluster lighting, and on some models additional gauges are available.
On top of all that, because we have decades of experience and we only use top quality parts, we off a limited lifetime warranty for all our instrument clusters, including both replacement and repair units. You can't buy a better instrument cluster anywhere.

Heavy Duty Cluster FAQs
What Are The Most Common HD Instrument Cluster Problems?
Because HD trucks spend a lot of time on the road, they tend to have problems with heat-related damage. Over time, heat will damage the circuit board that controls the gauges, and that in turn will cause to erratic stepper motor behavior (gauges work sometimes, not all the time). In some instances, circuit board wear will result in stepper motor failure (gauges no longer work).
For all of these reasons, it's crucial that any instrument cluster replacement or repair includes testing of the controlling circuit board. It's not enough to simply remove and replace any components that are obviously damaged - the entire board should be checked for problems. At ISS, we have specialized equipment for testing.
What Are The Best Replacement Gauges For Heavy Duty Truck Instrument Clusters?
The best replacement gauges for heavy-duty truck instrument clusters have three features:
- Premium grade stepper motors. The most common point of failure in an instrument cluster is the stepper motor. Because we are one of the world's largest instrument cluster companies, we're able to secure premium grade stepper motors from the same companies that sell directly to vehicle manufacturers.
- Carefully tested and repaired (if necessary) circuit boards. Over time, many of the components on the cluster circuit board wear out. This can be due to excessive heat, or it can be a result of vibration. In either case, visually inspecting and testing the circuit board is a big part of what we do when we're working on an instrument cluster.
- Testing and validation. Before any instrument cluster is shipped, it must be tested and validated. We use proprietary equipment developed specifically for instrument clusters to test and validate every single gauge. Most of the companies that repair instrument clusters do not have any testing equipment, let alone an OEM grade testing tool.
While there are lots of companies that offer instrument clusters or instrument cluster repairs, none have our capabilities.
Can You Get Custom Lighting For Heavy Duty Clusters?
Yes, custom lighting is available for heavy-duty clusters. We use LEDs to upgrade the lighting, and we talk a bit about why you might want LEDs in this post on the ISS blog. LEDs have a few benefits, including a clearer view of the gauges and also less impact on night vision (red and green, only at lower lighting levels).
My Freightliner Instrument Cluster Is Not Working. What Do I Do?
If you’ve checked your fuses and checked with the manufacturer to ensure there is not a recall on your vehicle's instrument cluster, the next step is to look at repair or replacement options for your Freightliner or other heavy-duty gauges.
We list most clusters on this page of our website but you can also contact us directly about your heavy-duty cluster repair needs. Note: Cosmetic flaws/damage. Your cluster will still have the same scratches and scuffs it had when you sent it to us.
