How To Install A 2003-06 Chevy Silverado Replacement Instrument Cluster

Tools Needed
Tools needed to install your 2003-2006 Chevy Silverado replacement instrument panel include:
- 7mm socket wrench
- Non-marring pry tool like a plastic tool
Removing Chevy Silverado Instrument Cluster
1. Lower the steering column into its lowest position.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Put your foot on the brake and turn the key.
4. Lower the shifter to the lowest position to give you access to the radio and instrument cluster bezel.
5. Take the pry tool and begin to pry outward towards you.
6. Once it is loose, pull it out to release the clips holding it in place.
7. You’ll see the 7mm screws holding the instrument cluster to the dash.
8. Remove them one at a time being careful not to drop them into the dash. Make sure you don’t engage the hazards lights in the process.
9. Once all four screws are removed, you will pull the lower portion of the instrument panel towards you.
10. Slide the lower portion out of position.
11. You’ll see the plug in the rear. Squeeze the two ends of the plug together and pull it loose.
12. Put the vehicle back into park and turn the key into the off position.
Installing New Silverado Instrument Cluster
13. Installation is the reversal of the removal.
14. Put the key in and put the vehicle back into first gear to give you room to reinstall the cluster.
15. Put the cluster in front ways forward and attach the plug.
16. Using the alignment pads, slide it into place to attach the screws.
17. Attach the screws taking care not to drop them.
18. Reattach the instrument panel and radio bezel by sliding it back into place and push it forward.
19. Press the bezel back into the dash and the tabs will clip it into place.
20. Installation is now complete and you can put the vehicle back into park, adjust your steering column, and disengage your parking brake.
